Second c section

Is a second c section easier to recover from if it is planned? I have been told this by a few people. I had a c section with my first after a long labor that wouldn’t progress. I got a post op infection with staph and had to be re admitted to the hospital the day after coming home with a white cell count though the roof. I do not want another one, but am just weighing my option since baby is estimated to be big at 6 pounds at 34 weeks. Just wanting to hear from people who have had good outcomes.
