Pain with HSG?

I’m scheduled for a HSG next week and want to know how much pain did you experience after? Wondering if I could go to work after the test?

no pain at all. it's just like getting a pap. i was scared out of my mind cause i didn't know what to expect but then as the process hot started i was like...that's it. no worries

I had one last June and it wasn’t painful at all for me. I was told to take 800mg of ibuprofen an hour before, do I did. It was a little uncomfortable but no pain. I had slight bleeding after but it stopped pretty quickly, like an hour later.

I’ve also heard that it’s more painful if your tubes are clogged. I personally haven’t had one done but I’m due to have it done this coming week so I’m also worried about the discomfort. I know that I have fibroids outside of my uterus that are pressing into my uterus causing loads of pain. They want to make sure that I don’t have scar tissue from a recent infection, make sure my tubes are open and also to check the fibroids to see if they’re something that can be safely removed. I had one 2 weeks ago. The pain, if so, what I went through was kind of a pressure in the abdominal area like when you have premenstrual cramps. after the procedure I felt nothing. take some pain killers before. While my experience was very normal and no painfull, my sister had a bad time. Her fallopian tubes are clogged.

I have had 2 over the last 4 years. Both times I took 600 (or maybe it was 800) Advil about an hour before. It is a little painful, but I’ve also heard it’s more painful if the tubes are blocked. It wasn’t bad though. And I got to see it all on the screen. It was cool

Hi, I did my HSG today. Here’s my experience with HSG exam:
Radiologist first inspected my cervix with his fingers. 
Then, he put the speculum in that had 💡 light attached. **this was the worst part in my experience *
He proceeded to put the small catheter in that had the dye and little balloons 🎈 that inflated once in. 
I kept saying please tell me when you push the dye in and he was like “we’re done”!! I couldn’t believe it! Didn’t feel anything. No bleeding/spotting either.
Things that might’ve helped me: 
* Took 600 mg Ibuprofen 1hr before; 600 mg 1/2 hr before. 
* Drank lots of water all day.
* Radiologist was great!
