Feel guilty for posting pics of their baby?

Question

I think that infertility awareness is a great thing for the most part. But lately on instagram and Facebook everyone is coming out about their struggles with infertility and some say that they have a hard time looking at photos of babies. And I want to post pictures of my cute little baby but I don't want people to think I'm intentionally "rubbing it in their face" (which I'm most definitely not). 
Hope no one takes this the wrong way. I just don't think anyone should feel bad about posting pictures of their babies.

You can post whatever you want. If someone struggles with it then they can unfollow you or whatever. That’s like saying you can’t post photos of your wedding because someone else is forever single. Everyone has struggles. It doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate happy things in your life.

It is literally impossible to please everyone. In our culture these days, it’s nearly a capitol offense to hurt someone’s feelings or to “trigger” someone. People cannot hide from discomfort. Life isn’t comfortable. And it shouldn’t be. Just be you. For every ten people that are upset about you posting your happiness, what about that one that’s joyful or finds hope in it? Maybe you’re making just as many people smile.

I’m struggling and I don’t care if people post pics of their babies. Yeah sometimes I may feel a bit down but I’d never want or expect them to stop posting because of me . I’m still happy for them

If a friend is feeling so low about her infertility that baby posts upset her then she can easily unfollow you. Some of us have issues which sucks, but that shouldnt damper your joy as a mother. Post as much as you want, babies are adorable and theyre only little once

Celebrate your family! Everyone handles fertility issues differently but as individuals we have to do what is best for each of us. I had two miscarriages in a row and during that time it was a little hard to read posts of others saying how uncomfortable their healthy pregnancy was or how sleepless their nights are with their new baby.. I would think ‘I would give anything to be pregnant and uncomfortable or sleep deprived if it meant I had a healthy baby in the end’... but those were MY issues and state of mind. Those Moms were being honest about their journey and sharing their lives, not weighing in on mine. As long as they were not saying derogatory things about people struggling to have a baby then in my book they are doing nothing wrong. Babies are one of life’s biggest gifts and sharing photos of the littlest love in your life is your prerogative and you shouldn’t feel badly about it.

The thing is- the posts about “infertility awareness” and being sensitive bug me just as much (maybe more) than a flood of baby pictures. The WORST is that damn Shady Grove radio commercial that plays about 4 time’s an hour right now. I just choose not to follow people when I know there’s a new baby and they are going to post 35 pictures a day.  Post what you want. It’s easy enough to filter what we want to see. Besides, in the US Mother’s Day is coming up and those who are really bothered by the family and baby picture posts are probably already unplugged from social media for a bit.

I post pictures of my son all the time... if someone has issue with it they obviously dont know what it took to get him here and they can move o
n to someone else... I struggled seeing pregnant mommies after my stillbirth but then I realized I dont know what those women went through to have their little loves...  we dont know everyone's story so I think it's sad some will be bitter about seeing others happy.. I can understand the wish to have the same, but bitterness is a shame..

If someone is struggling, they need to figure out how to deal with it. Some might like seeing baby pictures and others can just unfollow you. As long as you accept both and dont pressure anyone to look I think it's fine.

If people see that as you rubbing that in their face, that is their problem. It needs to be understood that posting pictures of your baby is a very normal and expected thing that shouldn’t affect their life. People have babies. It happens. It’s natural and it’s not going to stop. So post away.
