outsiders opinion

Okay, so this is going to be long but I need an outsiders opinion. I dated my ex boyfriend my junior and senior years of high school. We lived together for a couple months after high school until we broke up. We broke up because he likes flirting with every girl and lies about it, and other stuff like that. We've been friends with benefits for the past two years, me wanting a relationship and him not wanting one. He makes it clear that he doesn't want me sleeping with anybody else, but is still the same old person and still sleeping with other people. I love him, care about him, and want to start a family with him. I know that he loves me deep down and he's not one to show his emotions. We've been through a lot and I believe we'll end up together eventually... Should I keep holding on or just walk away for good. I've been trying to walk away for 2 years now, I just love him to much to lose him. he makes it clear that he doesn't want a relationship right now, but he's beeb saying that for a while.
