Is it possible to get pregnant 5 months postpartum when you havent had your period yet and youre exclusively breastfeeding?

Yes! Exclusively breastfeeding is not birth control! It’s a myth people believe then end up pregnant within a couple months sometimes shorter. I can’t believe people think that’s a real thing.

You absolutely can!!   I was exclusively breastfeeding my little boy (who is now 28 weeks old) and am currently 14 weeks pregnant....a huge surprise!  So I fell pregnant when he was 14 weeks old.  The “period” I had was when I was already 6 weeks pregnant.  I found out when I was 8 weeks at a GP appointment to discuss more long term contraception (was on the mini pill).  
I am a midwife, and always tell women to be careful even when breastfeeding as it’s not 100% effective.  
Looking forward to our new addition though (apart from the horrendous morning sickness!).
