First miscarriage - D&C Tuesday

After three weeks of hoping and praying for a miracle, this past Tuesday we got the confirmation that our baby didn't make it. My body is still holding on tight and won't let it go. The doctor said I can wait another week for it to happen naturally but then I really should have a D&C. So we scheduled it for next Tuesday. As I wait I'm so anxious as to what to expect. Emotionally, we've known this was coming as our last 3 appointments were not good news. Since this is my first, can you please let me know what to expect with a D&C? Pain? Bleeding? Etc. thanks in advance and so sorry that you also went through something like this.
