What are you ladies planning on wearing after birth??

I am really stressed about being so gross and messy in the hospital I really just want to feel clean and feel comfortable (I know I wont🙄😂) but I’m hoping to shower ASAP after birth if I’m able to and change into some comfy loose pajamas that i am bringing with me. Is anyone else doing this or just staying in the hospital gowns?? FTM and I really don’t know what to expect 😭

They have to check you so many times the first day it’s really more convenient for everyone to just stay in the gown. They have to check your pad for clots while they push on your uterus and your bits for infection. Wear a robe over everything if you want to be more covered but I promise the second you change into pants you’re gonna be trying to shimmy them down enough for them to check you. It’s super annoying

Personally I liked having some loose-ish yoga pants. Tight enough to hold the diaper pads of tucks pads and ice packs  to my vajayjay with the mesh undies. Felt more secure to me. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?? Think having your period, wearing a pad with a dress, but 10 times more bloody and with stitches 😂

I’m staying in my gown mosf of the time. I would rather get their gowns dirty then my clean clothes. Plus it’s easier to get in and out of and to clean yourself up in the gown

I always shower as soon as they’ll let me and change into my own clothes. Black yoga pants, comfy T-shirt’s, loose button down pajamas (good for nursing and skin to skin!).

I ended up showering about 12 hours after birth, I was too busy staring at my little one to care how gross I was. I bought this off Amazon and wore it for the day and a half after labor until I was discharged. super comfy, breathable and really easy to nurse in and pull down to do skin to skin with baby.

Friggen hell girl that was me to a freaking T with my first. I had a long ass labor and all I wanted was a damn shower. They usually make you wait a day until the IV thing is out I convinced the nurse to cover it with plastic and let me shower. (I wasn’t on meds I think they just keep it in there Incase something goes wrong? So it wasn’t attached to anything.) I then immediately changed into my pajamas and felt like the world had changed just from the shower. I’ve packed 3 very very comfy sets of pjs and I’m totally planning on doing the same thing with baby#2. I hate feeling gross!!

With my first I stayed in the gown until they took iv out and let me get up. I showered then wore loose pjs until we went home the next morning. Just a creature comfort!

I will be bringing a nightgown for after she comes that I'll likely wear after I get a shower. I typically have the baby, do skin to skin for a few hours and breastfeed at least twice before I go shower. I'll also be bringing a going home outfit that will consist of a pair of maternity pants and a comfy shirt with a nursing bra.

Last time I just wore the hospital gown for my whole hospital stay. This time I bought a plain comfy black robe to wear instead. Much easier to breastfeed in than the hospital gown. I've got some yoga pants and sweatpants and loose shirts in my hospital bag, but I doubt they'll get used.

So I stayed in my gown with my son but I took a shower the night I gave birth. When my epidural completely wore off and I had nurses stop coming in and out and family watched little man I hoped in that shower and it was heaven. The gown was so comfy and free. I wanted no pants on and since I breast fed I wanted a loose top on. So I pretty much lived in that gown.
