Swimming on my period????

I’m going swimming with my class on Thursday and my period is either starting today or tomorrow. And if I skip it I have to go swimming with the ninth graders! 
So I was wondering if I can swim on my period or if I should use a tampon ( which I have never used before )

Use a tampon, don't free bleed in a pool like that with other peers swimming around. Tampons are fairly easy to use and you may actually prefer them.

Deffo use a tampon... if you can’t use them I’d advise not going! Sanitary towels will not protect you when swimming☺️
