What were your hospital must haves?

I wish I had brought my boppy pillow to help nurse in the hospital! Next baby I definitely will bring it

I had an emergency csection and ended up using only a handful of things I brought with me and some things I forgot. This is what I suggest:
- adjustable slide sandals (your feet may be swollen and your regular shoes won’t feet)
- tall/knee socks (if you didn’t have time to shave your legs or just don’t want to deal)
- comfortable and loose band yoga pants or maternity leggings 
- long and loose nursing blouse (button up is better!)
- dr bronners soap and wash cloth 
- an extra bag (for taking all the hospital goodies - ended up looking like a bag lady with all the plastic bags I had)
- tooth brush and toothpaste 
- mouthwash for when you can’t be bothered 
- belly band (your insides will feel like they’re swimming - get it for free from the hospital) 
- breast pump (so they can show me how to use my own and get fitted)
That’s it. You don’t need anything else. The hospital has underwear, breast pads, towels (they’re scratchy but whatevs), and anything else your baby needs.

I brought depends with me and they were a godsend - so much less bulky than a giant pad

I forgot my own breast pump so bring that if you're breastfeeding. Nipple shields incase baby doesnt latch or you're in too much pain. 
 
A few pairs of dark pyjamas. I packed one pair and ended up needing 4! 
Those pull up pants for old people are a Gods send instead of regular pads when the bleeding is heavy for the first couple of days. 
A headband to keep your hair off your face. 
I stupidly only brought 0-3 baby clothes, thinking my baby would be big. She wasn't so people had to go out and buy me newborn. I didn't bring much for baby other than onesies, vests, hats and light blankets. I didn't bath her in there so didn't need any wash stuff, just a little towel or face cloth. 
I brought my own pillow but didn't end up using it. 
I brought my boppy pillow for feeding. It was good but not essential. 
All the basics- toiletries, breast pads, slippers, dressing gown, socks, towels, camera, phone, baby stuff, snacks, large water bottle. A plastic bag for dirty clothes. Going home outfits for you and baby.

Lip balm for gas+air, fluffy socks, outfit to go home in, hair ties, various snacks, my own towel and pillow, phone charger
Baby: 
Outfit to go home in, outfit for the hospital stays, hat, mittens, blanket, nappies and wipes (my hospital didn’t supply)
I packed a lot more but those were my essentials.
