If it's just the actual skin, it could be a reaction to material, washing powder, sanitary pads, soap etc. If it's actually more around the vagina it could be a yeast infection and for that you'd need to visit a pharmacy or doctors

Sounds like a yeast infection to me (everyone gets them at some point) total pain in the ass! Get yourself to a pharmacy and they’ll have something to clear it!

Hey there. An infection can happen even without sexual contact, particularly if the normal bacteria (we call them normal flora) down there is compromised. This is why maintaining the pH is important. If hygiene is not an issue, or allergic reaction to a new hygiene product, you may be having bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection, although they usually have characteristic discharge but may not be present in all cases. You’d need a gynecologist to treat these two. I don’t recommend self medicating.
