Questions about bv and yeast infections

I keep getting reoccuring bv and yeast infection symptoms. Which, to my understanding, is chunky, smelly, discharge for bv and itching inside vagina, redness and lots of chunky white discharge for yeast infection. My question is in order to have these infection are the symptoms reoccuring or continual? because they'll go away for a few weeks and come back like they cured up and then I got it again. I don't understand. I'd check with a doctor, boy I really wish I could, but I'm pretty low on money and I don't have health care.
