Disclaimer: this is based off my own experience.

My sister and I are close. She is two years older than me. I got married a year ago. My husband and I only dated two years before marriage. My sister and her bf have been together for 5 years.

Anyhow, after my wedding, my sister asked me not to have kids until she got married. She said she was going to get married this year (2018). Well she isn’t even engaged :/

I just wanted thoughts on this. My mom thought it was more than fair to ask me to wait since I got married first and needed to let my sister have a few years to shine and she’s older than me. My husband had the opposite reaction and thought it was insane for her to even ask me that. People obviously have strong feelings on both sides so I feel like it’s controversial.

Spoiler alert: my husband and I didn’t wait to start ttc but haven’t gotten pregnant yet.
