Parents with 2 children , where are you installing new baby car seat ?

My son is 8, not sure if I should install behind me drivers side or passenger side ... I drop him off at carpool and they open the passenger rear door.

The safest location is where you get the best install. No side is safer than the other. As far as the middle goes, the child who is LEAST a protected, so a child who isn’t rear facing or is in a booster, is the one who should go in the middle.

I have two in car seats, soon to be 3. I’ll have one on each side and the biggest one in the third row. For you, I say put your big kid on the passenger side so drop off is easier.

Middle seat in my car, passenger in my husband’s. My husband cannot drive either car with a car seat rear facing behind the driver. His car is too small for the toddler seat and infant seat to sit side by side like mine, so my son had to move forward facing in his car 😑

Just for reference, but if multiple car seats do not fit properly ( or two big rear facing seats probably would have a hard time being installed side by side) it’s ok to put them behind the driver/passenger.
