What is a glucose test?

I've been seeing some posts about this. Is this a requirement for every pregnancy? I'm 23 weeks along and my doctor hasn't discussed doing one with me.

I’ve done two as diabetes runs in my family both times I did the cold “orange” flavor and it literally taste like uncarbonated orange soda.

I just did mine at 25w5d but I brought it up to my doctor at my last appointment  (22weeks) because we are going on vacation and I didn't want to miss the testing window. It can be done at any point but most doctors send you some time between 24 and 28 weeks. I'm sure it will come up at your next appointment, but if it doesn't ask about it!

They just mentioned it to me at my 20 wk appt because they do it at 24 at my OB. They told me to come in a few mins early to drink it, and that I'd be there for a full hour. They will prob mention it to you at your next appt!

Make sure you get one between your 24-28 week. I did mine at 24w 2 days.

It was only mentioned to me last week at 23 weeks that I’ll have to have the test at 26 weeks (if I chose to have it done which I will do)

I’m getting mine done next week on the 7th, I’ll be 23+6 weeks. Basically 24 weeks lol, but it’s typically done between 21-28 weeks. I’ve always gotten mine done around this time, this is actually he latest I’ve gone. You can get it done earlier, if your dr is concerned or if express concerns that could be obtained to diabetes. But at your next appointment I’m sure your dr will bring it up to you, since he or she hasn’t already!! 
It’s fairly easy, you just get a tube of blood drawn take the drink sit an hour then get your blood drawn again. You can’t leave the lab area, you have to stay. If you throw up, you have to re take the test. So then you’ll do the 3hr, or of corse your dr informs you that you failed. The best one if your hospital offers it, is the Red. The clear tastes like water down Sprite in my opinion. But the Red is the best, like I said if your hospital offers it. Mine offers 3 diff kinds, red, orange and clear. So after your dr schedules it, make a trip to the lab area and see if they offer different kinds. Mind you, the earlier the appointment is made, if your hospital offers different flavors the best will gone before hand. Mine is at 8:45, next Monday for that reasoning lol
