Am I being too impatient?

Question

We had a local photographer take photos of us last night around 5pm. She told us she’d most likely finish the editing and email them last night.
Well it’s been 29 hours later and she hasn’t emailed anything but she’s been sharing things on fb all day. My husband thinks I should give it another day before asking about them but I’m wanting to ask tonight. 
What would I do? How do I go about asking if they’re done without seeming pushy. She’s been paid btw

Honestly, most professional photographers take months to edit and send back photos. It’s kind of crap that she said she would finish them and didn’t but I would wait it out

Most photographers take much longer than 24 hours to edit and send photos back. My wedding pictures took two months to edit and send back and they weren’t even edited heavily.  So I’d say give her a little longer, yes. 
But additionally this just sounds like an unprofessional situation. Most professional or semi professional photographers will have you sign a contract, that states how many pictures you’ll get, how long it will take to edit them, and so on BEFORE you pay so that if they turn out crappy or you never get them, you can take the contract to a lawyer. While I get there are some photographers just starting out that maybe don’t do that, I’d never use someone without a contract I didn’t know personally because I’ve heard so many stories about people paying $100s just to never get any pictures back. In the future, I’d be sure not to pay in full until you get your pictures OR to make sure you get a contract.

It’s customary to wait 2-3 days before asking especially during busy season.

I’d email her tomorrow morning, politely and see if she has finished editing. Something like “Hey! Just checking in to see when you think you’ll be done with the edits? I’m super excited to see everything!!” Positive and excited but gets it across that you want your stuff ASAP. Good luck!

I'm a photographer and sometimes, we need a break from work so ignore the fact that she's been sharing/posting things on Facebook. Since she told you they'd be ready soon and its been a few days, just wait a few more says to ask about them. Photographers got a lot going on, all the time so it could be rare for us to get a break so bare with her.
