Receptionist at my Dr office told me “its all in my head”
I’ve never once called my dr office concerned with pregnancy symptoms and asking for a blood test until today (8 months into TTC)
My periods are always on point for their start date as well as ovulation (I take opks) according to the dates glow predicts.
This month my period was a day late and last 3 days and was abnormally light and ended two days before vacation (thank you baby Jesus). While on vacation aside from being tired which I blamed on all the exploring the only odd thing was I spotted on random day and was peeing a lot. I got back from vacation and started right back into opks and every single one has been negative causing glow to keep pushing back my ovulation day.
I’ve been having extremely sore/heavy breasts, super fatigue and occasionally dizzy and a backache.
As I started logging my symptoms and looked back at my calendar I realized my body is a little off so I called my dr to make an appt for some tests. The receptionist asks what I need to be seen for so I try to keep it minimal and say “I just need some tests ran”
her response “well tests for what”
I said “just to make sure everything is going good with my body, I’ve been feeling a tad off”
Her response “what’s that supposed to mean”
I responded “if you must know I just want to confirm if I’m pregnant or not, my cycle is off this month and I’m having some weird symptoms that aren’t normal for me”
Her response “have you tried to take a test”
I say “yes, it was negative however my period was late and then extremely short and I’m having sore breasts, I’m tired, occasionally dizzy, and my back hurts. Also none of my opks are coming back positive”
Her response “well if you’re TTC and your test is negative the symptoms are just all in your head.”
I responded “I know my body, I’ve never once called with this issue before something is off and I’d like to be seen.”
Her response “I guess..what time would you like to be seen tomorrow.”
I literally feel like losing my cool on her tomorrow. Have any of you ladies dealt with this before? If so how’d you handle this with your dr?
