They sold me a sick puppy
My boyfriend and I went to Pets Plus this past Friday to adopt a cat. $600 later we ended up leaving with a puppy that both him and I fell in love with. His names Preston. We got home that night and Preston had a little bit of diarrhea, but we didn’t think much of it because he was in a new environment and had to adjust to it. But the next day he wouldn’t eat and he started coughing and had a runny nose. My boyfriend and I started to get a little worried but not too much because Pets Plus made it quite clear that Preston was as healthy as he could get. So we went through the night and the next morning Preston ate and seemed to be feeling better. He was more playful than he had been so we thought he was okay. He ate that night and come the next morning (yesterday) he started throwing up. And that was the last straw for me. I called the vet right away, they said I need to bring him right in. So Preston and I went to the vet and the vet examined The little guy and said he needs to be hospitalized as soon as possible he seems to be incredibly sick, she called up a 24/7 veterinary hospital and let them know him and I were on our way. As soon as we get to the second vet they take us to the back and check him out, they decided they were going to keep him to test him, monitor, and put him on fluids. The vet there told me he would call me within the next two hours and let me know what was the matter with the little guy. About an hour and a half later I get a call telling me that Preston had and still has Parvo. If you don’t know what parvovirus is its super deadly dog disease. The vet told me at this point he has a 50/50 chance to make it through it, and that it’s up to him and if his little body can push through. Yesterday was a very emotional day, both my boyfriend and I became so attached to him I’m such a short time————-——-
The worst part about it all is that Preston was with at least 15 other puppies at Pets Plus. Parvo is highly contagious, and they all had the exact same vaccinations which means they all most likely have Parvo. And the store has already sold most of them. Those people, and families are already if not going to go through the exact same thing as my boyfriend and I, we are so scared for his little life. It’s honestly the worst heartbreak both him and I have ever felt. I’m honestly just waiting for the call that’s going to tell me that our little man passed away. It’s so upsetting, and even more sad others are going to have to go though this as well.
Prayers for Preston😭🙏❤️🐾
