Dilated?

I believe i dilated a little but i don’t want to check my own cervix I’m 35w pregnant & im having the WORSE pressure on my vagina feels as if he’s about to come i keep feeling this squeezing feeling Idk what to think I’m a first time mom came across some of my mucus plug ... has anyone felt like this & turns out they were dilated?

If you aren’t trained to check cervixs don’t. Baby could be low making you feel pressure but that doesn’t mean you’re dilated. If you aren’t in labor and having strong contractions you likely aren’t dilated much. Call your OB if you’re worried about something

I’m pretty sure you aren’t suppose to check your own cervix for dilation. Honestly you probably couldn’t even if you tried, not with your belly in the way. 
If you have concerns I would call your doctor. I think they would also want to know if you think you lost your mucus plug this early.

You can lose pieces of your plug all throughout pregnancy. It regenerates. It’s possible for you to start dilating but definitely not something you’d feel. Pressure is probably just from Baby engaging. I’d wait until your next prenatal visit and voice your concerns. Though most practices are starting to lean towards not checking at all for dilation (you could be dilated for weeks at the same cm so it’s not a great sign of labor progression unless your water has broken already) or they’re not checking until 37-38 weeks.
