Anyone knowledgeable in fafsa?

I went to school around 2 years ago for a semester and stopped because I could t afford it. I’ve been working for the two year gap period and all of my money has gone to bills and such. I want to go back to school and my mil says that since I don’t live with my mom anymore and I filed as independent on my taxes I can get some aid. However I’m only 20 years old and I’ve been researching and it says that I need to be at least 24 to be granted special circumstances. It says I can be granted some aid if I have a kid or if I’m married and I’m neither I just live with my s/o.

When I tried filing for fafsa it says it wants my mother’s information but I have no idea how much she makes (but I know she makes a good amount) and I’m afraid that it’ll hinder my chances to get aid. What should I do? Any advice? I really want to go to school.. thank you in advance!
