Unmediated Birth unsupported?

I want to labor unmediated because of the higher percentage of vbac births achieved. But my husband, I cant even get him to watch a YouTube video let alone go to a class... He has mentioned that the mans job is just to be a bystander and stay out of the way, as much as I try to convince him otherwise it seems he just doesn’t have an interest in helping. This is our second child, the first time was a crapshoot of us trying to figure out how to manage until I caved and got an epidural. Is It possible to pull off unmediated by myself? I cant afford a dula as our insurance is crap.
