Can You ONLY conceive during Ovulation?

Is it true you can ONLY Get pregnant if you're ovulating? I thought you can get pregnant anytime (except when on your period), BUT that you have a greater chance during ovulation. Have I been wrong all along?

Unless you're one of the rare people who ovulate twice a month or hyperovulate, yes. When you ovulate, that's when you release the egg that would be fertilized by the sperm and result in a possible baby, without the egg... no baby. With that said, sperm can live inside you for 5 days so having sex even before ovulation can result in pregnancy.

Sperm can live for several days inside of you, so you can actually only become pregnant when you’re ovulating but you don’t have to have sex at that time.

Ovulation is the only time your egg gets fertilized but sperm can stay in you for days waiting for ovulation to occur so you can have sex five days before ovulation and still get pregnant. 
And for the record if you ovulate early in your cycle, you can get pregnant during your period!
