Gifts for the L&D nurses?

I read that giving a small token of appreciation to the Nurses on the floor is a good thing to do. I was going to get something small. Anyone doing the same? Are you doing something for the nurses when you move to your patient room after labor?

I’ll either have my family bring in donuts for the shifts (can’t forget day vs night shift) or have a basket of goodies (think stuff like granola bars, chocolate, packs of gum) in my room for the nurses (and aids) to take. 
I’m a nurse myself, so I know small gifts are appreciated; however, I also know that they’re not expected and nursing staff will not think anything differently if you don’t bring anything. A simple “thank you” is all that is needed :)

I’m going to have my husband grab 2 dozen doughnuts and a few bagels for the labor and delivery team after we deliver. It’s an inexpensive way to say thanks. 🍩

I’m not bringing anything. I’ll be sure to be a very kind and appreciative patient, but unless something crazy happens, and I have to stay for a long time or something, I don’t think a gift is necessary.

I wrote down all the names of the nurses we had and plan on sending small gift cards with a picture of my baby. I think we are also going to send an Edible Arrangement to the whole team. Still trying to think of something perfect to send my midwife.

As a former L&D; nurse (currently 36+3) it’s always nice to receive gifts of appreciation from our patients (food especially 😋) but it’s not necessary! It definitely makes us feel appreciated. Thank you cards are nice too, but like I said, we are there to make sure you have a safe and memorable delivery!

I'm doing a little basket of goodies (teas, chocolates, trail mix, etc)... but only bc I started maternity leave a few days ago with no baby yet, so I had the time to put it together 🤷‍♀️

We brought donuts and wrote out a little thank you card. It's always nice to show appreciation!
