Breast surgery

I started using this app a few months ago just for logging my period and BC. But I’ve found that there’s a lot of support offered here.

A few weeks ago I found a growing mass in my right breast that was incredibly painful. I went to my doctor who sent me for radiological testing and a mammogram as well as a pelvic exam (I’ve lost three babies in the last two years).

The pelvic exam came back fine but I was sat down and told the mass was abnormal and I needed to go get it biopsied. My doctor sent me to Austin Cancer Center for testing and I had to go alone to that appointment. I’ve missed a lot of work so my fiancé is trying really hard to make up what we are lacking from me being out, and it’s been hard on us both.

The morning I went for the biopsy I was puking my guts out. I had been every morning for a few days at that point. They wouldn’t perform the biopsy because I had been ill.

So we scheduled to have it removed. A cancer surgeon removed the mass yesterday and told me that it was abnormal. She doesn’t believe it’s cancerous but the fact that it was abnormal is worrisome in itself. And it takes a week for results, so now I’m recovering and emotional traumatized. I’m 28, and planning a wedding and have life to live.
