Daughters speech development at 18 months..should I be worried?!

My daughter babbles a lot in her own language.
But she seems to only know mommy, daddy, deer, cee cee (grandmas name) bubba (water cup) shoes, bye, hi, chair, bear and boots. When I ask where things are she knows exactly what I am asking of her. In any of her books I ask her to point to the raccoon, or where is the purse, and she knows all that I ask. But she’s not very verbal. And especially quiet around people she doesn’t see often. Should I be worried?!

No you shouldn’t be worried, my son is 22 months and he’s the same way he can’t say a lot of words maybe like 5 words in total but he’s very smart in comprehending things

Totally fine! Same with the word "ban" for banana. My son says "nana" for banana and I count it as a real word because he's using it in the proper context. He's 20 months next week and has only started to use more words. My cousin's daughter didn't really start saying things until 21 months.

Nope. Sounds in the realm of normal.  One of my kids only had a handful of words until he was 2.5 and the other two had full vocabularies by 18 months.
My oldest (the late talker) could do physical things the other two couldn’t do until later.  A lot of times kids will focus on one skill and the others take the back burner until that skill is polished and perfected.

It could be totally normal, but to be completely honest with you it does seem like there may be a delay. It’s not the amount of words that she has that would concern me, but the fact that she understands a lot more than she can express verbally. 
 I’m in the minority here, but if I were you, I would get her an evaluation. Are you in the US? If so, you can most likely get a free speech evaluation from your school district. I would start by making an appointment with your pediatrician and ask them to assess her development. Even if they say she is on track, it may still be worth a speech evaluation to see if you can get services. She may be completely fine, but if there is anything going on it’s best to get her help as soon as possible.
