New baby clothes size??

Question

So I made a registry and had put clothes sizes newborn-3 months and 3-6 months. My mom saw it and said “newborn sizes are way too small” and kept going on and on and I said ok what size is okay with you and she said 6 months. So I changed it all to 6 months just to satisfy her but that seems too big for a newborn. What do you guys think? I think I’ll just buy the smaller sizes myself.

I would get mostly sleepers in 3mos and a couple of nice outfits. For the first 3 weeks I stick with just long sleeve newborn onesies and swaddle blankets, because for the first three weeks we don't go anywhere and the baby mostly sleeps anyway

my first born was to big for new born even tho i feel she was tiny 6lbs 13oz 20in she did had new born clothes that was given to her but she only used it ones 0-3mo was great for her

My daughter was 7 pounds 6 oz, my son was 8 pounds 3 oz so I expect this one to be a high 8 pounder. I would do 0 to 3 and 3 to 6 mostly from your registry and just buy a few things in the newborn size 🤷

My daughter was 7.9lbs and was in newborn for about 6 weeks. She has always been on the short side, so I guess that's why. Nobody really knows how long a child will be in a certain size, I'd say it's better to be prepared with a few newborn and a few 0-3. You can always do more shopping after baby if born. I will say though, 6 months is waaayy to big for a new born!

I'm getting 0 to 3 month sizes mostly. I tend to have 8lb babies though. I figure they can always grow into the clothes. If after the baby is born, I can always buy newborn if I need to

I only got a couple newborn outfits since they grow so fast. I got more 0-3 months but I'm mostly getting more 3-6 and 6-9 months clothes.

My daughter was in the newborn size for about 2 weeks. We only bought a few things in the newborn size and focused more on 3M and 6M sizes.

Most of the stuff I have bought so far is 3 months. Babies usually outgrow newborn outfits within a month.
