Early Ultrasound Fail

I had my first appointment yesterday at 8+5 weeks at the birthing center. She couldn't detect the heartbeat with the Doppler, which I expected because the uterus is still so low.

She then tried the ultrasound machine (no wand, just handheld) and there was something in there. I could see a tiny shadow of a baby but it wasn't moving.

She referred me to a clinic that has a wand that they insert into the vagina for an early ultrasound.

I don't feel worried but I had several intense dreams last night. I just needed to tell someone.
