Hairy or hairless?

So I have been with having sex with a new guy for about 2 months now. I typically only shave my vagina once every 2 1/2 weeks, I don’t let it get out of control, but it’s still pretty hairy. Reasons why I don’t shave more often: because it hurts if I don’t let it grow a little! He prefers a “bald” vagina. But my feminist ways will not let me conform to his preference. Any thoughts on the situation? He makes joking comments about it that make it funny, but I totally own the hairy vag so I don’t give him ground to stand on to hurt my feelings. I of course want to be attractive to him, so do I conform because I want to be sexier to him, or do I be prideful?
