Argument help?!

My boyfriend and I keep getting in silly little arguments because he says I keep getting short with him, but even when I talk calmly he says I'm talking mean. And when I try to explain it, he doesn't listen. It's this huge circle and it's very frustrating for me because I don't know what to say or how to say it because everything I say is wrong! Any suggestions? I really do love this man and would do anything for him, I'm just frustrated and upset.
