When to tell Family?

This is our second pregnancy 9 weeks along today. I miscarried back in January. We were so excited that we told our families at Christmas and then had to tell them we miscarried. It was really nice having their support.  I am wanting to tell family about this baby, but my husband is super against telling anyone till 12/13 weeks Incase we miscarry again. I don’t see the harm in telling close family. I also would like to add that we have had a positive ultrasound and the baby is growing perfectly with a strong heartbeat. What are your thoughts on the matter? Should we tell family or wait?

I’m early in my pregnancy but told my family and closest friends-the same people I would turn to for support if something bad happened (knock on wood)... So I’m of the belief that if you want to tell them, do so! They love you and will be by your side regardless of what happens! But I’m praying on the positive happens for you!!

They were super helpful I tell your family now. My family would not be helpful in a miscarriage situation. So I wait till 12-13 weeks. But seeing as they’re helpful I tell them.

I had a missed miscarriage a few years ago and I had thought I was 10 weeks but baby stopped growing at 7 weeks. I am now 8 weeks and 5 days! I’ve told my family, my staff at work since I manage people and my close friends. I know it was a devastating experience to go through but I had so much support from the people that had known so I have no fear this time either. I want to enjoy every single minute of being pregnant and I want to share that excitement. I think it’s up to you and how you feel. Miscarriages are so taboo to speak about yet they are way more common than people think. I feel like once people knew about my story they started telling me theirs. Do what you feel is right for you and your family. I thinks it’s harder to suffer in silence if something does happen.

It depends on your relationship with family. I’ve had two miscarriages, and so when we announced to our parents this time around, we knew we’d be fine telling them if we miscarry again. In fact, when I found out I was pregnant this third time, I called my mom right away because I was scared and upset. It’s entirely up to you.

Abigail I totally agree with your husband. I miscarried in August and had to tell everyone that we did so. That was so devastating to me and hurtful. It took a while for me to get over that. I’m pregnant now and we have vowed not to share until the second trimester as well.

I think it's a personal decision but probably one you both need to agree on. we've told our family early this time around and partly that's because I'm so ill and finding it hard to function but also I am close to my family and would want them to know if we miscarried because I'd need their support and it's not something I think I'd be able to keep from them. I won't tell the rest of the world till later. x

With my first We waited 12-13 weeks before telling anyone. 
I’m only 6 weeks but already told my sister only because she’s also pregnant. We decided to wait until the first scan to tell the family, just to see that there’s a heartbeat

I did the same with my first pregnancy.
if I ever have another, I won't tell anyone. Some family members supported me. 
Others (mainly my mom) made me feel like how it affected them, was more important than me losing a child! that was 4 years ago, and I don't tell my mom ANYTHING that could possibly be bad or go wrong in my pregnancies and life. it's affected my relationship towards her.
it's up to you and your husband. youre both in this together, and should make a decision together.

As someone who has had multiple miscarriages.. I personally say wait till about 12 weeks. But that’s just my opinion. Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy

I had a previous MC and when i got pregnant with my rainbow baby we didn’t announce till around 17 weeks when i was comfortable but with this pregnancy we announced it at 6 weeks after are viability ultrasound and we’re almost 17 weeks now. Congrats btw
