Do you actually “LOL” when you type “lol”?

Question

My husband sent me a meme by text (instead of showing it to me because he was sitting right next to me) and I replied with “lol.” 
He looked at me, rolled his eyes and said “but you’re not even laughing out loud.” So he was being dramatic basically asking me if every time I’ve been sending him “lol” it was a lie.
So my question to you is do you actually laugh out loud when you type “lol” in reply to something? I realize that 90% of the time I don’t. 🤷🏿‍♀️

I rarely laugh out loud when I type lol. I usually just use it to make something sound less serious. If I laugh out loud I’ll usually say lmfao or just say “I actually laughed out loud” or “i just laughed so hard”.

I only type lol if I really did laugh, otherwise I put a smiley or a haha. Maybe I should make up my own code like sof, smile on my face. 🤔🤔🤔

Sometimes... whenever I put lol on someone’s post on this app ... Im laughing.  If a friend texts me something meant to be funny but it’s meh ... I’ll lol and not actually lol.

I don't usually laugh out loud at all but I say it all the time. I dont think it's a lie unless you live your whole life completely literally.

I'll flat out say "I really just laughed out loud" if it was funny enough that I did it. If it made me laugh internally,  I'll say LOL instead of just lol. As someone else mentioned, I write just lol when I'm trying to be less serious or joking around, or if it made me smile.
