vow renewal/anniversary party

hey everyone, so my husband and I have been married for 3 years. we eloped and had a beach wedding. we were planning to do a big family/friends casual party like a bbq or something to celebrate the marriage but it never happened with conflicting schedules etc... so we thought maybe an anniversary party/ vow renewal... the only thing is I'm a super emotional person and don't like being the center of attention so I don't know if I'd like to say vows in front of everyone. I am kind of leaning more towards a party... is it weird to have one at this point? I was thinking maybe wait till the 5 year mark and do something big. Any ideas on the best way to go about this??
