Are you & your spouse glad that you waited to have sex until after the wedding?

This is not being asked out of judgment. I would like other’s POVs looking back.

We weren’t Christians when we met and we didn’t wait. We had our first  baby out of wedlock. I wish we both had waited for marriage but that’s not how life fell for us! A girl at my church just got married last weekend and their first kiss was their wedding kiss. That was so incredibly moving and inspirational to me.

my hubby and I have both been married before. he is 52 and I'm 30. we both knew that we were getting married by the end of the first week. between work and family it took 8 months to get to the altar. but we were already committed in our hearts to each other and walking together in our spiritual lives.

I dont know, what to vote. When we met, my husband was attenting catholic church, and I wasnt practicing, although I believed. I had a boyfriend and has sex before him. So, when I met my husband he wanted to wait, I was fighting with it. We waited about 2 years, then started having sex. After about 2 years we decided, that its not good, so we stopped and waited 3 years to wedding. After all, I wish we had waited all the time, because it was painful to start and stop after that time...

I don’t particularly know how to vote this because I feel like what happened happened. We both weren’t invested in church when we met and didn’t wait. A few moths before the wedding we took a break when we got back into church and both felt really convicted that what we were doing was wrong and didn’t set a good example of who we wanted to be as a couple. My husband as a daughter from a previous marriage when he walked away from his faith, and we want to set a path for her now that is Godly and Biblical. But I feel like as a Christian I can’t really answer that I was happy or sad about what we did before. Because I knew sex out of marriage was wrong but I am also a human and God understands mistakes and teaches you from them. That’s what Jesus is for. Do I wish now I would have stayed closer to Him when I was younger? Of course. But my husband and I have learned a lot from grace and a lot about ourselves and who we want to be. And I feel like sometimes you have to make mistakes to learn things. I love my husband and my daughter more than anything and I didn’t know I could ever be so blessed to have them in my life. So I guess I’m happy. Sad that I had to learn like I did but happy I learned and we are back where we need to be. Sex in a loving committed marriage is the greatest gift God can give a couple and it’s amazing.
