NEED ADVICE

So, I got accepted into university roughly 15 hours from where I live now and I decided to defer for a year so I would be able to save some money and afford to move myself down. ( I set like a $10,000 minimum). I’ve almost reached it so I’m starting to stress.

My boyfriend (been together for over a year) moved there from where he used to live last year before I had been accepted because he has family there and wanted to get out of where he was living.

Now for me to live on campus it would cost me $280 a week, so I thought I could easily get a share house for less than that. So to me it made sense to make living with him a possibility, however when I brang it up with my mum she lost her shit at me. Basically she told me that if I live with then I’m going to have to answer to him and I’ll miss out on essential University experiences and that it was just an all round bad idea.

I honestly don’t see where she is coming from, I told her that not every male is like how my dad was or her ex fiancé who were controlling and manipulative. I understand she wants what’s best for me but in this situation I think living with him is what is best for me

Idk I just need other people’s opinions about it, whether it’s a big deal like mums making it out to be or not.
