Spotting for five days??????

So my period was due five days ago but instead of an actual period I’ve been having spotting but not enough to like out a panti liner on and its not every time I wipe either like twice a day maybe. About two months ago the doctor put me on progesterone and since then my periods were going regular until now. So I tested today and got a straight negative not even a faint line. Has anyone had this happen then got a positive??? And I’ve never had this before never. So I’m super confused
