Is it to fast to get engaged when you've only been together for a year?

have you moved in together yet? I only ask because before jumping the broom, you should love with your SO, but that's when you really get to know them. their hygiene, their quirks, etc.

I truly believe you don’t see someone’s true colors/know them until you’ve been together for 2 years. So I personally would get engaged at a year but not married get married until after 2 years.

My husband and I were together 6 months when he bought my ring. 5 years later and were still going strong 💪🏻💪🏻

I honestly think it depends on the couple. My husband and I got engaged after 8 months of dating and married after 1 year and 4 months. We never moved in together before marriage. We’ve been married for very close to a year now and it’s been amazing (: i don’t ever see us separating in the future. I did know him a little bit prior to dating him if that matters. 
As for a lot of people saying they recommend moving in together before marriage, if that makes someone feel better and more secure I say go for it. However I think if you really love someone those flaws that are seen after some time aren’t really flaws. You just have to communicate and work with each other. 
If for some reason my husband was gone tomorrow, I would miss picking up his clothes off the ground, cleaning the toothpaste out of the sink, or whatever even though that can get irritating after some time. So I guess it’s also about perspective.

To me yes that seems short. But only you know your relationship. I do think living together first is important.

It depends on your relationship. I moved in with someone after dating them for a month. 2 years later we're engaged, have a beautiful daughter, and are house hunting. Sometimes you just click with someone and everything falls into place.

Yup! I heard you don’t really know a person until about 3 yrs or something like that. And I think the honeymoon/crushing phase can last about a year or two. So I wouldnt rush anything. A lot of ppl break up at the 3 yr point

My husband and i got engaged about six months of dating then he moved in and we got married within that year. Now we a 1 1/2 year old and another one on the way. I don’t think it’s too early just depends on the couple.
