Baby, Babe, Hun, Sweetheart?

For some reason I feel weird calling the guy I'm talking to names like that. I don't let pet names either. I don't know what to call him..

I call my husband Baby unless I am mad then I use his name. He called me by my name the other day and I didn't answer so he said Baby and I answered and he laughed and said sorry didn't mean to call you by the wrong name! Not everyone uses pet names and that's OK. I never called my ex-husband anything but his name......well until the divorce but I won't post those names here!! Lol 😂

I've never called anyone these names or anything other than their actual name, even when they referred to me by those things. This goes for guys I've just "talked to", as well as very serious, long-term relationships. I don't mind them doing it (if we're dating), but I'm 32 & I don't ever see myself doing it. No one has ever said anything to me about it bothering them & it never appeared to bother anyone either. I know that men would be less likely to say if this sort of thing bothered them, but they've still stayed with me without me doing something that I'm truly not comfortable with!

I call my hubby husband, babe, hunny or hun, and when I'm mad I call him Kev. He rarely calls me by my first name unless I don't respond to his previous callings he calls me wife, sweetheart, or sweetie. I don't care that he calls me something other than my actual name because I feel like it makes the relationship stronger, we are more connected.

Past boyfriends I would never call by pet names. I never felt comfortable. But my SO now I love calling him by pet names. It's a much better relationship than I've ever had before, thus adding to my comfort level. I call him babe-o all the time.
