My midwife isn’t doing my group b strep test until 37+3.

She’s fine with it because she doesn’t think the baby will come early since this is my first baby.

I am uncomfortable with this and think it would be a mess to deal with if I go into labor early.

And most likely lead to me having to take antibiotics when they might not even be necessary.

If I go into labor before 37 I have to go to the hospital. But if I go into labor from 37-37+3 I would be at home. I don’t know if she can even access antibiotics that quickly for me to take.

Should I request to have the test done earlier?

I’m usually so good about speaking up for what I want, but all this is so new to me. I don’t know where my confidence went...
