Thinking about an IUD but afraid

Mostly just don't like the idea of a foreign object being lodged in my uterus, and also the idea of heavier bleeding and cramping. But on the pill I'm experiencing horrible mood swings and worsened depression(I already had depression but it's gotten worse) and idk I'm just afraid an IUD will somehow mess up my ability to conceive later in life even though that's ridiculous. Can anyone give their experience having one?
