My husband & I decided to take a trip to his parents house, we had a plan set in place to announce our pregnancy to them. We drove Friday night after work, and decided to call his dad and tell him the news because we won’t see him for a few more weeks (his dad and mom are separated, she is remarried). He was all excited and what not, well we told him since we’d be getting up north so late we where planning on telling my husbands mom and step dad in the morning. Now fast forward. Morning comes and we wake up, my mother in law had gone to her barn to feed horses and we where waiting for her to come back to give her, her birthday present (& pregnancy announcement). Well she gets back, and my husbands dad had CALLED HER AND SAID “CONGRATS GRANDMA” he left it in a voicemail, she came charging into the house and was like “are you pregnant?!!!” Mind you she sounded pissed so I tried to play it off, and my husband says yes lol. We explained we had a plan in place and we gave her the present, and I took of my sweater to reveal a shirt that says “it’s not a food baby” she finally got excited, and is now currently all talking about the baby, and buying it this and that, etc. but this is the story of how my loud mouth father in law ruined my pregnancy announcement 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. #pregnancyannouncementFAIL.
