I personally don't think you're a mom until your baby is born and I'm gonna get a ton of flak for this but idc. Anyone. ANYONE, can be pregnant (who are able, of course). People who will love and take care of their children. People who will abuse and ignore their children. I PERSONALLY feel being a mother is more than just carrying a child. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and in no way do I want to be celebrated. I will definelty celebrate my own mother. She has raised me, loved me, taught me, guided me, protected me. She has spent countless nights soothing, feeding, and rocking me. She has sacrificed so much for me. THAT needs to be recognized in my opinion. Pregnant women of course should be recognized! Our bodies go through so so much. Pain, agony, trust me, I know! But i don't feel pregnant women are the same. AGAIN. my personal opinion. which I'm allowed to have lol. Absoulty no disrespect or hate. If you celebrate it while pregnant, awesome!  I'm just saying is all, it's healthy to view points from others!

You become a mama the moment you see those 2 pink lines! From that point on begins the worrying, preparation, protection, love, pride, and excitement that being a parents brings on!

I honestly dont think you should get to celebrate if you dont raise or care for your children. My stepdaughter was in hysterical tears last night as her mother has abanfoned her not once but twice and is out of state and had the balls to call her and DEMAND that she celebrate her for mothers day and told her that she cant wish me or anyone else a happy mothers day as we are not her mother. I think she needs to step back and realize its for those who care for their children. Be it while still nurturing them in the womb or after birth. If you love and care for your child like a good mother and dont neglect or abuse them or havent walked out and left them you ARE a mom. I think you should celebrate in that case.

I personally don’t care to celebrate a Hallmark holiday either way 🤷‍♀️ don’t need a gift or a special dinner to make me feel more like a mom. But you’re a mom when you’re pregnant not just at birth so if you want to celebrate, celebrate!

I guess i dissagree, of course your growing a human but i dont think that makes you a mom. In My opinion i feel like you don’t do mom things. Yes you have hormones & natural instincts but im sure every pregnant lady does its when the baby arrives that you know forshure if you are a mom or not. JUST MY OPINION

I’m 29 weeks pregnant and it took us 2 years and fertility meds to conceive this baby. I feel him kicking me right now. Yes, I’m a mom and we love him with all our hearts. Our love made this baby and we can’t wait to meet him! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I mean what about those that lost their baby and had to have a d&c;? What about those that find out there is something horribly wrong with their baby and have to have an abortion? You're a mom regardless in my opinion.

I didn't, but I do think you're a mom when you're pregnant. it's not just about raising them, it's bringing them into the world safely and loving them enough to do so. quitting cigarettes, no drinking, eating right, going to doctors appointnents when your feet are swollen and you don't wanna move, and  actually delivering them (c section or vaginally) it's all apart of it and those are big sacrifices that women are expected to make as mother's who care for their children. so, yes, I do think a woman becomes a mom when she's stops thinking about "me" and starts thinking about "us"
