I know this isn’t the right place but I just need some quick help and not sure where to post this !

My friend and I are creating a scholarship on behalf of our friend that passed away last year! We’ve created fliers with an amount, qualifications and deadline. After talking to my mom she mentioned that there might be some rules we need to follow to do this and that it may not be as simple as giving someone some money.

She said we may need like

An LLC

and more concrete stuff (if that makes sense )
