Depends on how “excessive” it is, and whether he was willing to work at losing it or not. If he gets morbidly obese and refuses to take care of himself, then I might consider it. *maybe* It’s hard to imagine though because I love him so much regardless of his body.

As shallow as it may sound, it’s possible that I would. Physical attraction is important in a relationship. Even along with mental and emotional attraction, if that physical attraction was lost, I feel that the rest might follow suit.

My goodness! 😱 If someone is willing to leave someone over that, there were other problems. Help the man! If he is unwilling to change, that could be an issue, but maybe he just needs help or encouragement! I am someone who gained a few “happy pounds” when I got married, and my husband tells me I’m beautiful every day. I’ve finally had enough of feeling bad about the way I look, so I’m eating well and exercising. He, too, is exercising every day and eating healthy when I can’t cook for him (because he has also gained some weight). It’s a journey we’re on together, and it’s a bonding experience!

I was already a little overweight when I met my husband. During our first year together, I put of a few more pounds (I was in my final year of college) and then shortly after I graduated, I got pregnant and gained 60. After birth, I had post partum depression, and didn't lose any of it until our daughter was about a year. Not once did he ever comment on my weight, my health, or anything that related except to tell me how beautiful I was and that he loved every inch of me. I know first hand how people can go through rough patches, and that eventually they come out of it. I did, and I've lost the 60 lbs of baby weight, now working on the college weight. 😅 I would definitely stick with him through anything because he's been my rock through my journey. I have an amazing man and wouldn't give him up for anything.

i mean he didn't gain it overnight so if i see it going in that direction then ima try ro help him, even participate in healthy stuff with him. If he seems like he just gave up and doesn't  care about himself  thennn I honestly might leave because you can't help someone that doesn't  want to be  helped. And if its medical of course not. But in all situations you better know that I'm  gonna try to gelp him as much as I can

Nope. It would only bother me for health reasons. I fell in love with who he is and how he treats me. If those qualities changed maybe I would, but not for weight. That being said, if he gained enough weight to become an invalid I would need him to seek counseling and treatment.

At least help him out. If you live with him, try making healthy food. Go on walks, as a start to a healthy journey. Sit him down, and have a talk with him. Don’t come off as aggressive. Be calm, and try to look at it from his view. How would you feel if he was feeling the way you do now because you gained weight. Take in that emotion, and just talk. Communication is key!
