how long maintenance takes?

my so and i have been on a waiting list since jan for an apartment
we’re now on the top of the list, and the lady said they’ll call once maintenance for the apartments are done. how long does that typically take? ive looked it up online but never found anything.

My SO works maintenance at an apartment complex and it can honestly depend on what needs done and how many apartments are waiting for “cleanup”. Some places have a company do their painting and carpet replacement. 
It’s pretty much a waiting game. It could be anywhere from a week to a few weeks. Where my SO works, anytime a tenant moves out, they have to do a remodel which means ripping all of the old and replacing with new and that’s pretty much Everything like carpet, new paint, cabinets, doors, etc. It seriously all depends on how much needs to be done and how many apartments they have to do to prepare for a tenant to move in.

It depends what kind of maintenance. Your best bet is to ask the woman directly to get a timeline so you can plan your move. She should be able to give you a date.
