Epidural?? Things I shouldn’t have googled...

Question

Last night I was dumb and googled if an epidural can permanently paralyze you.
Of course all this stuff popped up of that happening.
And now I’ve stressed myself out. I know there is so much research that they are safe but I cant get it out of my head, that I’ll be an unlucky one.
UGHHH. 
Anyone else just as scared ?

Nope and my sister had a bad epidural experience with her first pregnancy. She had a GREAT epidural experience with her second. I’ve already told the doctors at my clinic I don’t wanna feel ANYTHING, to just hook me up to the drugs 😂 the likely hood of being one of those statistic is smaller than you think.

Unfortunately there are side effects and problems that can happen with ANYTHING... even a 100% natural birth can have its own set of problems or complications. I had an epidural with my first and will go into this L&D; open minded and go with the flow and do what I feel necessary to relax and have a great birth and if that means another epidural then I’ll absolutely do it! My first epidural was awesome, no complications, could still feel enough to know when to push but no pain from it and it wore off fairly soon after birth and i felt great!!

If you’re freaked out by epidurals, look into some natural birth options! The art of being born is a great movie if you’re leaning that way. I got an epidural and it definitely made my back hurt afterwards, for a while, but that was it. I was totally fine! Soooooooo many ppl get them!

I had 2 epidurals and I was fine! I’ll definitely be getting one again lol

Those side effects are extremely rare. Many other drugs have similar warnings but we rarely look them up. Make your decision off what you want, not out of fear. Plans are just plans until things get real.

I got it with my son and I don't regret it lol when it gets cold I can feel pain in the injection site but it's better than the pain of birth lol

You can’t believe everything on the internet. Talk to your doctor. They are safe.
