Being Chubby..in China
Not exactly a topic.. but just mind blogging at 3am here.
I walk around China on my visit and everyone is like either stick thin or basically average and they wear such beautiful clothes and there are shops full of dresses and colorful outfits. I want to go in but it's basically discrimination no size above a M, even in American stores. I tell my dad like " I see a lot of chubby Asians too walking around, but they are made to wear big ass t-shirts or man clothes, it's kind of rude and unflattering."
I am not obese, I am healthy, I eat extremely healthy and walk up to 6 miles a day and do yoga but I still have a belly thanks to genes. but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to have nice looking clothes that don't make us look boxy or flat.
well the main reason I started the post was I started to get depressed towards the end of my period, I kept saying to myself. " if only I was thinner, so that I could look prettier in outfits so I don't always look pregnant."
I don't really have body or self image issues I'm actually pretty confident and comfortable with myself and my sexuality but everyone gets that twinge.
But I am tired of the media and the stores here portraying the thin concept, even the movies I've watched here depict Chinese historical women as super thin when in fact they were volumptuous and considered the most beautiful, even many other cultures their historical movies are done that way, it's just ridiculous
Then the style here in China now is thin women wearing big t-shirts that have no shape and wide pants and big shoes to look bigger. its like thin people want to be fatter, fat people want to be thinner, but majority don't like fat people because they think we are unhealthy, it's like huh what eh.
Clothes be in all sizes because we are all shapes and sizes and colors.
