I used Depo shots for two years after my son was born 13 weeks premature. It’s a very serious form of birth control that is only recommended for two years of use maximum. The side effects are significant, to include bone density degradation. My joints felt arthritic. I have had three periods since stopping and I still don’t feel like myself. It took 7 months for my period to return after my last shot. I wouldn’t recommend it unless pregnancy is a health risk.

It broke me out, like red welts all over my body. I only took it once but it was 3 months of hell
