Bacterial infection

So for monthsss I thought I had a yeast infection. But it would not go away so I finally went to the dr after trying to treat it myself. It’s been months.. my question is how bad is this for my fertility? With it being left untreated for so long. The embarrassing truth is that I didn’t even know what BV was until now.
