Belly tightness?

What does that mean when the belly gets really tight and would not get back loose for at least half an hour? I’m 31 weeks. Very uncomfortable feeling! Is there a way what I can do to loosen it? My doc is on her vacation...

It sounds like Braxton Hicks. Sometimes they say drinking more water can reduce how much or how long you have braxton Hicks. Just as long as it isn’t painful like contractions  and it is in a pattern. Your body is just practicing and getting ready.

I’m 29 weeks and I had that feeling for 3 days straight. It was constant, didn’t come and go or anything. Went to see my OB and she said it’s just Braxton Hicks 🤷🏼‍♀️ they checked my uterus to make sure I wasn’t dilated and everything look good!

im 31 weeks too i get it all the time. I think it's the baby moves into a position that's really weird and uncomfortable for me. I usually just wait it out because nothing else works

Yes! This happened to me a few days ago, think I overdid it running around and needed rest and fluids. My dr said all is fine but to let them know if it starts to be in a regular pattern. Trying to take it easy more!

I get that when I'm constipated or have gas. Drinking water and less carbonated things will move that along. Lots of fiber!

I get a tightness too, above my belly button. But only when I'm walking. Or after I have a bigger meal.

It does sound like a Braxton Hicks however they don’t usually last half an hour but only around 20-30 seconds (maybe a little more or less). It could also be baby stretching out or turning to an uncomfortable position for you. 
I would recommend drinking water but if that doesn’t work then try something sweet to move baby.
