I’ve never really seen anything like this on here so I thought I’d share my long distance friendship story. ❤️

Okay so I met my best friend when I was 7 years old on the playground of our elementary school. We literally just met each other and said we were best friends now. And after that we were inseparable. If I wasn’t at her house she was at mine, and it was like that until we were about 10. When we got a letter from her parents while away at summer camp saying she would be moving across the country at the end of the summer. I remember just crying with her the rest of the week.

That summer I practically lived with her family trying to soak up as much time with them as possible. Then it came to August, I had to say goodbye not knowing how long it would be till I got to see her again. We both didn’t have cellphones but would call eachother through our land lines once a week. I went 5 years without seeing her. When I was 15, my family and I flew 2,000 miles to surprise her. I got to spend a week with her before I flew back home. 2 years after that I saved up every penny I had to buy a plane ticket to spend 2 weeks with her again.

Each time I get to see her again it’s like we were never separated. Each time we see eachother we are reminded of how lucky we are to be able to be friends. Each time we have to leave eachother we stand in the middle of the airport holding eachother while we’re in tears. Distance is soooo hard to deal with, there’s been so many times that I wish I could just drive over to her house when I need her. We don’t talk all of the time but we are still as close as any other persons friendships. In the 11 years apart we have only seen eachother for about 20 days in total. And I’m so lucky for those 20 something days together ❤️ so if you want feel free to share your long distance friendship stories💕
