will I be induced?

Will a doctor induce me if I’m in severe pain? I’m 38 weeks, dilated almost a 2, and I’m just in so much pain every day, enough to make me cry but my contractions aren’t consistent always, I’ve also had back pain and severe pelvic pain. It’s just unbearable

Possibly.  Some doctors will...but if your doctor does, it probably won’t be scheduled until you are 39 weeks (and being it would probably be considered elective, you might get bumped if there are too many emergency or spontaneous labors that day).

My doctor is inducing me at 39 weeks 4 days but I’ve been having gallbladder attacks and need to get it removed. If I didn’t have a medical reason she wouldn’t be able to schedule it until closer to 42 weeks since this is my first baby. I don’t know if this is how all doctors are but this is what I was told. I would talk to your doctor and see what they say. I’m nervous to be induced but this gallbladder pain has been way to much and I don’t know how much longer I can deal with it.

It really depends on the dr. My practice has like 8. I went last Friday on my due date and the dr I met with was SO against inducing.  On Monday I went back to get my fluid levels checked. Turned out I was on the lower side and my daughters birth weight was also lower than the average. That dr sent me right over to get induced!

I guess depends on your hospital rules and your doctor. My doctor won’t even strip membranes until 39 weeks.
